Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor reportedly feels “relief” that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are returning to the UK, it has been revealed. For the majority of the year, the former Duke of York has dominated headlines following his royal downfall as a result of scandals surrounding his previous friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

While Andrew has always denied the claims and accusations against him, the scandals cost him his royal titles and his Royal Lodge home. He is now simply known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, rather than Prince Andrew, and lives in a humble home on the Sandringham Estate. Matters also got worse for the former prince when he was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was released under investigation, and the investigation is still ongoing.

These factors have all led to Andrew dominating headlines over the last few months; it is believed the former duke is now hoping Harry and Meghan’s UK return will change this for him.

A royal source claimed to RadarOnline: “Andrew is under no illusion about the seriousness of his own circumstances, but Harry and Meghan returning has completely transformed the royal news agenda.

“Suddenly everyone is talking about where the Sussexes will live, their relationship with the King and what happens with William.

“From Andrew’s perspective, having somebody else at the centre of the royal storm inevitably provides some relief.”

Andrew has not publicly commented on this and has been keeping a low profile for most of the year.

While it was believed he was spending much of his time at his new Marsh Farm home, it was claimed just weeks ago that he had been seen in France house-hunting.

He was reportedly sighted in the areas of Cannes and Nice.

The former prince, 66, did not join his royal relatives for the summer holiday at Balmoral in Scotland this year.
