“SENSATIONAL”: Netflix’s New Period Drama Is Being Called One Of The Best Shows Of The Year

If you’re still missing the romance, drama and lavish period setting of Bridgerton, Netflix may already have your next obsession.

The streaming giant’s latest release, My Brilliant Career, is winning over viewers with its mix of romance, rebellion and stunning early-20th-century Australian scenery — and fans are already calling for a second season.

Based on Miles Franklin’s classic 1901 novel, the series follows Sybylla, a fiercely independent young woman determined to become a writer despite her family’s plans to marry her off.

Philippa Northeast takes the lead as Sybylla, alongside Christopher Chung, Anna Chancellor, Genevieve O’Reilly and Jake Dunn.

Viewers have been quick to praise the drama, with one calling it “fantastic” and another admitting they had watched the entire first season in just two days and already needed season two.
