‘King Charles’ sweet reaction’ when he hears Archie and Lilibet’s names – source

King Charles reportedly has a very sweet reaction when his two youngest grandchildren’s names are mentioned, a source has said. The 77-year-old was reunited with his two youngest grandchildren last month, when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex took them to see their paternal grandfather at Highgrove House on July 10.
A source has shared that the King is determined to build a loving relationship with Archie and Lilibet, adding that his “whole face lights up” when their names are mentioned. Prior to their latest visit, the King last saw the young royals in June 2022.
Archie and Lilibet, who are now aged seven and five, are currently being raised in California, thousands of miles away from their relatives in the UK.

Speaking to Closer Online, the source said: “The minute anyone mentions Archie and Lilibet to Charles, his whole face lights up.”
They also shared that being reunited with his two youngest grandchildren is bittersweet for the King, with the young royals reminding him so much of Harry when he was a child.
“He says they both remind him so much of Harry when he was a boy,” the source added, “At the same time, it’s very painful because it’s been so many years since he’s seen them, that really eats away at him.”
The King is keen to be in Archie and Lilibet’s lives, although they live in the US.
The source added: He’s now saying that getting to know them and having some real quality time with them has to be made a priority. He’s keen to build on this new peaceful dialogue [with Harry and Meghan] and hoping it will all fall into place.”

The source also added that the King would be keen to travel to the US to spend time with Archie and Lilibet.
They added: “If it takes him meeting them outside of the UK, then he’s willing to make the effort.
“Obviously, it’d be a huge logistical operation and there’d be no end of people telling him it’s a terrible idea from a PR point of view, but he’s at a stage in life now where he’d much rather spend time with his grandchildren than worry about pleasing everyone else.”
