Prince Harry and Meghan return to UK with Archie and Lilibet

Prince Harry’s friend has issued a breakthrough eight-word update on fixing the rift with Prince William following the Sussexes return to the UK.

Harry and Meghan officially landed back in the UK on Wednesday, August 26, six years after boarding their ‘freedom flight’ to North America, as they settle for an ‘extended stay’.

Following the news of Prince Harry’s return his relationship with his brother has re-entered the spotlight as a reunion between the pair is now seemingly much more likely.

The Duke, 41, and his elder brother William, 44, have not spoken for years but the move is being seen as a first step in ending the feud.

A close friend of Harry has provided an update on the brothers’ relationship, according to News 24, saying: “There is a chance it will all heal.”

The comment comes after another source told People that the King “will want to see his sons together over time.”

The insider added that as Harry and his family return to England it “is the best opportunity we have seen in recent years.

“It is going to be challenging for William. It will be very hard for him and Catherine.”

William has made his stance towards his brother clear, highlighted by not reuniting with him or his niece and nephew during the Sussexes visit in July.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that there is hope for the family dispute to be ‘gradually resolved’.

He told the Daily Mail that William and the King must have an ‘aligned’ approach towards Harry.

“It is essential for the future of the monarchy that the King and Prince William agree on a joint approach – both publicly and privately – on how this should be handled,” Fitzwilliams said.

“Since it is essential for the future of the monarchy that they speak with one voice on substantive issues, this is damaging for the monarchy and confusing for the public.

“There is a lot to play for, and obviously we must hope one of the world’s most public family disputes is gradually resolved.”

Tensions betweeen the brothers has developed over recent years with Harry partaking in tell-all interviews and his own Netflix show, airing the family’s ‘dirty laundry’.

Notably, in his memoir Spare, Harry shared details of a physical fight between him and William and also mentioned Catherine making Meghan cry.

It is believed that the brothers may make amends for the sake of Charles as he has urged them to not make his final years ‘a misery’.
