FOUR QUIET EPISODES WERE NOT ENOUGH — THIS LOVE STORY JUST BECAME A WHOLE LANCASTER FAMILY SAGA. 💕 Seeking Persephone began with one desperate choice, one guarded duke, and a marriage that looked more like sacrifice than love. But viewers clearly were not ready to leave that world behind. Now the story is officially moving beyond its first chapter — and what started as a short period romance may become the next fan obsession.

“SEEKING PERSEPHONE” OFFICIALLY RENEWED FOR SEASONS 2 AND 3 AFTER BREAKOUT SUCCESS

Seeking Persephone just got its happily-ever-after — and then some. The Regency romance that swept up viewers earlier this year has officially been renewed for not one, but two more seasons, following what producers are calling exceptional commercial performance and overwhelming viewer demand.

The four-episode limited series first premiered independently on March 1, 2026, through MainStay Productions, launching for rental or purchase on Amazon and Fandango. It didn’t take long for the show to catch fire. Angel Studios later stepped in to expand its reach, bringing the series onto its own platform and branding it an official “Angel Original” — all while the original creative team retained full creative control and ownership. That partnership is what ultimately opened the door for Seasons 2 and 3 to get the green light.

Based on Sarah M. Eden’s bestselling novel of the same name, Seeking Persephone is the first entry in her beloved Lancaster Family series. The story follows Persephone Lancaster (played by Ryann Bailey), a young woman who agrees to marry a reclusive, scarred Duke — Adam Boyce of Kielder, played by Jake Stormoen — in order to save her financially ruined family. What begins as a marriage of convenience slowly transforms into a tender, slow-burn love story, drawing comparisons from fans to classics like the 2005 Pride & Prejudice.

The renewal news was confirmed on August 10, when Eden and Stormoen shared an Instagram video announcing the next chapter of the Lancaster saga. “You haven’t seen the last of the Lancasters or the Duke of Kielder just yet,” Stormoen teased in the clip. Eden, who is writing the screenplays herself, revealed that Season 2 will adapt her novel Courting Miss Lancaster, shifting focus to Persephone’s younger sister, Athena, and her unlikely romance with the penniless Harry Windover. Season 3 will then move on to adapt Romancing Daphne.

Another magical day of filming the #SeekingPersephoneMovie, including the wonderful sisterly bond of the Lancaster sisters. AND we finally get to introduce you to our Athena: the remarkably talented Catherine Hannay! ❤️

Stormoen’s Duke of Kielder is expected to return as a recurring presence across both new seasons — fitting, given how tightly woven the Lancaster family’s storylines are in Eden’s books.

Seeking Persephone is currently available to stream across Prime Video, Angel Studios, Peacock, and Passionflix in select regions. No release date has been announced yet for Season 2, but with a renewal landing just months after its premiere, fans won’t be waiting too long to find out more.
