Chris Pratt Wants Action Legend Arnold Schwarzenegger to Join The Terminal List

Chris Pratt has a very specific Hollywood legend in mind for a future season of The Terminal List — his father-in-law, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The actor has already discussed the possibility with the former Terminator star and says he has a particular character from Jack Carr’s novels that he believes would be perfect for him. However, Schwarzenegger’s involvement remains a possibility rather than a confirmed casting decision.
Pratt revealed his idea in an interview with ScreenRant, explaining that he has read every book in Carr’s series and has already identified a role he would love Schwarzenegger to play if the show gets the opportunity to adapt that part of the story.
He said he had discussed the character with Schwarzenegger and would not want anyone else in the role if the project moved forward. Pratt also stressed that the opportunity would depend on the series being able to bring the relevant book to the screen, as well as Schwarzenegger being available and willing to take part.
The actor has kept the character’s identity secret, noting that readers familiar with the novels would likely recognise the role immediately. That secrecy has left fans speculating about whether Schwarzenegger could appear as an ally and mentor to James Reece or as a formidable opponent.

Jack Carr’s Books Offer More Stories to Adapt
Based on Jack Carr’s novels about former Navy SEAL James Reece, The Terminal List marked a significant shift for Pratt, who had become widely known for more relaxed, humorous characters. The series gave him a darker, more intense role as Reece, a soldier caught up in dangerous missions and personal battles.
The show has already adapted Carr’s first two novels, The Terminal List and True Believer. Carr has published seven mainline books in the series, with an eighth installment expected next year, leaving plenty of source material for potential future seasons.
That gives the production several possible paths for continuing Reece’s story — and, potentially, introducing the character Pratt has in mind for Schwarzenegger. Still, the actor’s comments do not confirm that another season has been approved or that the proposed casting will happen.
Schwarzenegger Has One Condition for Working With Family

Schwarzenegger has previously spoken about the possibility of sharing the screen with his family. In an interview with E! News last year, he said he would consider appearing in a film alongside his son, Patrick Schwarzenegger, who already featured in the first season of The Terminal List with Pratt.
His main requirement is a strong script. Schwarzenegger explained that bringing family members together on screen would only make sense if the story justified it, rather than assembling a cast simply because the actors are related.
That approach makes the prospect of a collaboration on The Terminal List especially interesting. Pratt has a role in mind, but the project would still need the right story and the necessary commitments from everyone involved.
Both Stars Have Busy Schedules Ahead
Schwarzenegger has several projects in the pipeline, including the martial arts comedy Kung Fury 2 and the action thriller The Kellys, which was filming at the time of the original report. He will also star as Santa Claus in the holiday heist comedy The Man with the Bag, which is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on December 2, 2026.

Pratt, meanwhile, is preparing to reprise his role as Garfield in The Garfield Movie 2 and has hinted at a possible return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Star-Lord in a standalone film.
Both actors have packed schedules, and no official announcement has confirmed Schwarzenegger’s involvement in The Terminal List. Nevertheless, Pratt’s comments reveal how keen he is to bring the action icon into the series. If the show continues and the right story comes along, the prospect of the two actors sharing the screen could become an exciting addition to James Reece’s world.
