Two Contestants Failed The 1% Club’s 30-Second Puzzle — But Viewers Claim They Solved It In Just Two Seconds! Bonnie’s mysterious message left both finalists stumped, while viewers at home insisted the hidden clue was incredibly easy to spot. Could YOU crack the code before time runs out?

The 1% Club Contestants Miss Final Answer That Viewers Claim They Could Solve in Just Two Seconds

Two contestants on the Australian version of The 1% Club failed to solve a final-round puzzle that viewers at home insisted was ridiculously easy. The answer was hidden in plain sight, prompting some fans to wonder how anyone could have missed it.

For quiz-show fans, few moments are more frustrating than watching a contestant make it all the way to the final question, only to miss out on the prize. That disappointment can feel even greater when viewers sitting comfortably at home believe they have spotted the solution almost immediately.

That was exactly what happened during an episode of the Australian programme, when neither of the two contestants attempting the final challenge managed to identify the correct answer.

How does The 1% Club work?

The format puts 100 contestants through a series of questions that become progressively more difficult. Each challenge is based on answers previously given by members of the public, with the difficulty determined by how many people answered correctly.

Every contestant begins with £1,000. Anyone who gets a question wrong is eliminated, and their money is added to the prize pot.

Those who survive until the end can choose to leave with £10,000 or take a risk on the final 1% question for a chance to claim their share of the accumulated prize money.

Although the format sounds straightforward, the questions are designed to test logical thinking rather than general knowledge. Even apparently simple challenges can prove difficult under the pressure of the studio.

The final question that left contestants stumped

You've got 30 seconds, go (Channel 7)

In this particular episode, two Australian contestants faced the final challenge but were unable to come up with the correct answer.

Viewers watching the programme on Channel 7, however, were quick to spot what they believed was an obvious clue. The question involved Bonnie planning a heist and sending her accomplice a coded message about the type of escape vehicle to bring.

Her message read:

“Meet me at the gazebo atop the hill after 11am.”

Contestants had to work out which vehicle Bonnie was referring to, with only 30 seconds to solve the puzzle.

The answer was hiding in plain sight

1% Club fans claim final round question is way too easy and could be solved in '2 seconds'

The correct answer was boat. The word is concealed across the phrase “gazebo atop”, making the solution easier to recognise once the hidden combination becomes clear.

After the contestants failed to spot it, viewers took to discussing the puzzle, with many questioning how it could possibly be considered a 1% challenge.

Some described it as “incredibly easy”, while others claimed they had worked it out in around two seconds. One viewer even joked that they hoped it had been the 90% question because their dog had managed to find the answer.

Not everyone was convinced the puzzle was quite so straightforward, though. Some viewers wondered whether there was a trick hidden in the wording. They pointed out that even if Bonnie’s accomplice was bringing a boat, that did not necessarily mean Bonnie herself would be using it.

However, the intended solution was indeed boat.

Easier to solve from the sofa?

The 1% Club is known for hiding clever twists in seemingly ordinary questions, but this challenge prompted an unusually strong reaction from viewers who felt the answer should have been obvious.

Of course, solving a puzzle at home is not quite the same as facing it under studio lights with a ticking clock and the pressure of a potentially life-changing prize at stake.

The show has featured plenty of contestants who have been eliminated by questions that initially appeared simple. At the other end of the scale, some final challenges have been criticised by viewers as almost impossible, leaving no contestant able to take home the money.

Ultimately, the experience is a reminder that a question only seems easy when you know how to solve it.
