Fears for teen, 19, who mysteriously vanished after trip to ‘SEX Rock’ as group of friends claims to have no memory of her being left behind on remote lake
A teenager vanished after enjoying a day on a lake with friends, including a trip to a famous landmark known as ‘Sex Rock.’
Marly Kinney, 19, was last seen at Grayson Lake, almost 200 miles east of Louisville, around 4pm ET on Wednesday.
She was on a pontoon boat with several other people, but they claimed they were not sure at what point Kinney got off, Lieutenant Chris Mulholland with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources told WSAZ.
Investigators have been searching the lake and surrounding trails since Wednesday, and are focusing on the water, according to Mulholland.
He said authorities are using sonar tools, police dogs and drones with thermal detectors to search for Kinney, and more resources are on the way.
Kinney’s sister, Willow VanHoose, shared a photo of the missing teen from the boat on Facebook and wrote that she ‘was wearing a pink-orange bikini that is strapless, and is likely to have no shoes.’
‘She wears gold jewelry and usually has a dainty gold cross necklace on. She has many tattoos, a sword down her side, a spider on her thigh going around it, butterflies on her arm, a tiger on her arm, and fairies on her shoulder.’
A woman named Leah Ross said she and her family were out on the lake boating beside Kinney and the group she was with, near a rock known locally as ‘Sex Rock.’

She took photo of the Kinney, who she believes was standing on the far left, with her friends jumping off the rock.
‘We stopped to jump off some rock cliffs, and they stopped shortly after us,’ Ross wrote on Facebook.
‘We have time-stamped videos where Marly and some of the group she was with were jumping off the rocks at 2.20pm. The group remained in the area for at least 10-20 minutes after that.’
Meanwhile, charges have been filed against a 23-year-old man after he reported one of his boat passengers missing on Grayson Lake the same day Kinney disappeared, Fox 56 reported.
Police said Cameron Conley alerted Grayson Lake Marina staff that he was unable to locate a female passenger who was on his boat on Wednesday, according to court documents.
When questioned by police, Conley admitted to drinking while operating the boat, and his blood alcohol level measured at .137, records show.
He was charged with operating a boat while intoxicated or under the influence.
Officials told the local news station they are unable to confirm if Kinney was the same person Conley reported missing.

‘We would prefer not to share any other information at this time. Our focus is, and will remain, on locating Marly. More information may be available at a later date,’ Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Public Information Officer Lisa Jackson said.
Notably, Kinney follows a man with the same name on Instagram. The Daily Mail has contacted him for comment.
