Prince Harry may want a public reunion with his father, King Charles, next year, but there is one risk that could blow the chances apart, a royal commentator has claimed. The Duke of Sussex’s relationship with the Royal Family has been left in tatters following his sensational exit from the Firm six years ago, but recently, there have been sparks of hope regarding a possible reconciliation in the future. Harry returned to the UK for five days in July to attend various events linked to his patronages, including the one-year-to-go countdown for the Invictus Games in Birmingham.

The duke is also expected to come back to his home country in September to attend another charity event. Harry held a private meeting with his father and his wife, Queen Camilla, as well as his own family, Meghan Markle and Prince Archie, with Princess Lilibet. It was the first time the Sussex children had seen their grandfather in four years.

A report by the Mirror claims that the Invictus Games organisers plan to invite the King to take part in “either the opening or closing ceremony as well as visiting a range of sporting events to meet competitors”.
Father and son last spent time together in public for the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and her Platinum Jubilee celebration the summer of that year.
But a royal expert claimed that when Harry visits Britain next year for the Games in Birmingham, his trip will clash with Queen Camilla’s 80th birthday, and plans for the celebration could pose a risk for a family reunion.
The Invictus Games will run from July 10 to July 17, 2027, while the Queen’s birthday is on July 17.
GB News’s Svar Nanan-Sen said: “The closing ceremony of the Invictus Games on July 17th falls on Queen Camilla’s birthday, meaning there is little to no chance of any senior royals attending Harry’s event.
“The calendar clash is not an ideal situation for the Duke of Sussex, King Charles or Queen Camilla; however, Harry will remain hopeful that the monarch will show public support for his organisation during its seven days in the West Midlands.”
However, he added that the King could very well attend the opening ceremony on July 10 if he wished.
