Strictly Come Dancing’s Shaun Wright-Phillips Breaks Down in Emotional Farewell After Judges Deliver Brutal Verdict on His Jive

Strictly Come Dancing delivered another emotional elimination as former footballer Shaun Wright-Phillips became the fourth celebrity to leave the competition following a difficult weekend on the dancefloor.
Shaun and professional partner Alexis Warr found themselves in the bottom two alongside actress Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu, forcing both couples to perform their routines again in a tense dance-off.
Despite receiving support from head judge Shirley Ballas, Shaun was ultimately sent home after the remaining three judges voted against him.
His heartfelt farewell to Alexis brought an emotional conclusion to the evening.
Shaun Wright-Phillips Eliminated After Difficult Jive Performance

Shaun and Alexis performed their Jive to Faith by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande, hoping to convince the judges they deserved another week in the competition.
Meanwhile, Jaime and Carlos reprised their Foxtrot to Olivia Dean’s Man I Need.
After watching both performances, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke voted to save Jaime and Carlos.
Shirley Ballas disagreed, revealing that she would have saved Shaun and Alexis.
However, with three votes against them, Shaun and Alexis were eliminated.
Following the result, Shaun emotionally thanked his professional partner, acknowledging her support throughout their time together.
Craig Revel Horwood Calls Shaun’s Jive a Disaster

The elimination followed a particularly challenging Saturday night performance for Shaun, whose Jive received harsh criticism from the judging panel.
Craig Revel Horwood described the routine as a disaster after Shaun struggled with his timing and footwork.
“From the moment you started dancing, the timing was completely out, the kicks were sloppy, there was no retraction,” Craig told him.
“There was no saving it, I’m afraid.”
Anton du Beke agreed that the couple had struggled to remain synchronized.
“We had a lovely Jive, but you weren’t doing the same one together at the same time,” he remarked.
The criticism left Shaun facing an uphill battle heading into the dance-off, where the judges ultimately favored Jaime’s Foxtrot.
Delta Goodrem Makes Impressive Comeback After Rib Injury

Elsewhere in the competition, Delta Goodrem made a successful return to the ballroom after missing the previous live show because of a broken rib.
The Australian singer performed a Rumba to Celine Dion’s I’d Do Anything for Love, earning an impressive 34 points.
However, it was Olympian Tabby Stoecker who topped the leaderboard.
Her Couple’s Choice routine to Olivia Rodrigo’s Stupid Song earned 37 out of 40, including two perfect scores of 10.
The performance placed her firmly at the top of the standings ahead of another demanding week.
Strictly Announces Historic Triple Dance-Off for Halloween

Following Shaun’s departure, Strictly Come Dancing is preparing another major twist for its Halloween results show.
For the first time in the competition’s history, three couples will face a dance-off rather than the traditional bottom two.
The three pairings with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes will be required to perform again to fight for their places in the competition.
The unprecedented format raises the stakes considerably as the remaining celebrities prepare for Halloween week.
With Shaun and Alexis now out of the competition and a historic triple dance-off approaching, the pressure on the remaining couples is only set to increase.
