“TAKING A DEEP BREATH AND PREPARING MY HEART TO SEE YOU ONE LAST TIME…” — CAROLINE PEÑA’S BEST FRIEND SHARES HER ANGUISH AHEAD OF FINAL GOODBYE Nearly a week after Caroline “Caro” Peña was allegedly stabbed in broad daylight, her longtime friend Christina Salinas is preparing to face the moment she has been dreading most: seeing the 32-year-old mother of five for the final time. “Missing you is a heavy kind of love,” Christina wrote as she tried to gather the strength to attend the memorial and deliver a reading chosen by Caroline’s family. Behind those words is an eight-year friendship, the pain of an unanswered final phone call, and a promise that grief will not silence her search for justice. As Caroline’s loved ones prepare to say goodbye, the image of her five children growing up without their mother has made the loss even more unbearable — while the three women accused in her death await the next stage of the case.

Caroline Peña’s pal shares anguish ahead of final goodbye to mom allegedly stabbed to death by sisters Kitty and Cookie

The heartbroken friend of a Texas mom of five hacked to death in the street by two maniac sisters spoke of her anguish Wednesday as she prepares to say a final goodbye — and vowed she will not stop fighting until justice is served.

“Taking a deep breath and preparing my heart to see you one last time. Missing you is a heavy kind of love!” Christina Salinas said, almost a week after Caroline Peña, 32, was allegedly murdered in broad daylight by Kitty Mia Diaz, 21, Amaya Cookie Diaz, 19, and their deranged pal.

“I know today at work it’s going to kill me all day thinking in just hours I’ll face reality. I love you. This week has been one of the hardest ones in my life.”

Salinas said she’s “truly honored” to deliver a reading at Peña’s memorial service, which will take place in Del Rio — a small Texas city near the Mexican border. It’s unclear when the service will be held.

“I’m so glad your family picked me and gave [me] the opportunity,” she said.
